The BIA of Central Ohio has announced the location for next year’s event. The 2014 Parade of Homes will take place June 14-29, 2014 at Trails End, located at the intersection of Olentangy River Rd. and Home Rd. in Liberty Township, Delaware County. The 148-home development sits on 216 scenic, wooded acres that are perched on a plateau overlooking the portion of the Olentangy River Valley that’s designated as a State Scenic River.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting the 2014 Parade at this development,” said Brian Jimenez of Jimenez-Haid Builders, Senior Vice President of the Building Industry Association of Central Ohio and chairman of the 2014 BIA Parade of Homes Site Selection Committee. “The site’s great topography, combined with the planned higher-end homes, will attract premier custom builders and help the Parade show off some very exciting home design, construction and decor.”
With homes ranging in price from $600,000-$900,000, the 2014 BIA Parade of Homes site is located in southern Delaware County and within Olentangy School District. Because the Parade site rests atop a ridge, every home can feature walkout basements and scenic views. Trails End is being developed by The Edwards Land Company, which has hosted multiple Parades, including the 2009 Parade at Tartan Ridge.
“We have hosted five other BIA Parades, and this is our most scenic site ever,” said Charlie Driscoll, president of Edwards Land Company, the site’s developer. Driscoll pointed to the fact that Trails End features unusually low density, with almost 50 percent of the site’s 216 acres devoted to open space.
The Edwards Land Company is part of the Edwards Company, which has built more than 30,000 residential housing units since 1959 and is the largest developer of upscale apartments the Columbus metropolitan area. The company has experience nationwide in construction and land development, including such projects such as Tuttle Crossing and the Brewery District in Columbus.
Since 1943, the Building Industry Association of Central Ohio has represented single- and multi-family homebuilders, developers and remodelers throughout the area. The BIA Parade of Homes has been wowing hundreds of thousands of visitors for 61 years, via its tour of new homes featuring the latest and greatest in home design and decor. Each year, central Ohio’s premier builders showcase their homes, offering Parade guests the opportunity experience the most current trends firsthand. BIA members will continue this tradition, working to bring even more innovation to the housing industry.
